Casting for the documentary movie
"Non disposable life"
Our Project
Our project is an impact documentary film where four households from the four Barents countries will be reducing and changing their consumption habits for three months, while always being accompanied by our camera crew. At work, in restaurants, shops and gyms, the participants experience and emotions will be documented in detail. Our participants will get advice from experts in various fields: economists, ecologists, waste separation experts and zero waste activists. At the end of the experiment our volunteers will reach a lifestyle that will help them produce just a half-liter jar of trash per month.
Our Partners
Participants
We want to explore archaic consumption patterns, prevailing social attitudes associated with shopping, waste and recycling. We are interested in understanding the local identity of the Barents Region in terms of zero waste.
As participants in the experiment, we are looking for:

  • Couples
  • Families with children
  • Those who live alone or with a pet

Schedule
  • Casting call will be open in 2021 from January 1 to August 31
  • The filming period in 2021 will be from September 1 to December 31
  • Release is planned in 2022 during June month

These will be days of intense but interesting work!

From selected participants we expect around a week of active filming time per month, so a period of three weeks in total.

1
The first month will be a test one
You will live as usual except that you will need to keep track of your shoppings and collect all your trash which will be measured in the end of the month.
2
In the second month
You will again need to collect all waste which will now for the first time be somewhat limited. Excursions and meetings with experts will help you understand how to reduce consumption and waste.
3
The third month
It’s a month without waste! You will use the knowledge you gained a month earlier to fit all your waste into a small jar! You will, however,  be able to hand over used items for recycling, and they will not be taken into account when calculating the volumes during the second and third months. Discussions will now move from private to public responsibility and that of corporations.
